Role Summary

Rivian’s Commercial Finance Team is comprised of Finance and Accounting functions. The functions work in parallel to support the Commercial Business in business development, strategic decisions, forecasting/budgets, and reporting. The Commercial Finance Team supports the following goods and services: Vehicles, Accessories, Retail, Charging, and Vehicle Services. The Commercial Finance Team’s structure offers unique opportunities to work in Finance and Accounting capacities. The Sr. Analyst, Actuarial Data role will operate within the Reporting Function on the Vehicle Service Team and working closely with the Warranty Accounting Team.

Responsibilities

  • Update, maintain, and improve Rivian’s existing warranty model
  • Perform actuarial and statistical analyses to estimate financial outcomes
  • Develop and maintain warranty monitoring analytics
  • Routinely present warranty model results and analytics to executive leadership to influence strategic decisions
  • Support system and process developments and transformation
  • Develop automation routines to efficiently capture, monitor, and account for warranty activity
  • Support month-end close process, complete timely reporting in line with Corporate Accounting policies and guidelinesAssists with internal and external audit by providing information for auditors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society
  • 3 years or more of related actuarial experience; warranty experience is preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience with data analysis tools (Databricks, Alteryx, etc.), data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Hex, etc.), and programming languages (SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Proven analytical skills, ability to research issues in complex data models to resolve problems; meticulous, yet able to identify issues and grasp concepts at a broader level
  • Must be an initiative-taking individual with the ability to multi-task within large datasets and work autonomously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including when involving cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work within defined time constraints and within deadlines during month end financial close, while driving longer-term projects to successful completion
