What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Legal Assistant position at Rivkin Radler LLP?
Rivkin Radler is seeking highly organized candidates with excellent communication skills and a minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience in litigation, for our New Jersey office. Applicants must be proficient with using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Drafting pleadings, such as Answers and Motion
Preparing, serving and answering written discovery demands and responses, including but not limited to Interrogatories and Notice to Produce
Draft legal documents, correspondence and/or pleadings
Prepare trademark applications, preliminary clearance searches and filing responses to Office Actions and TTAB actions a plus
Prepare/serve letters to clients
Maintaining calendar; scheduling and confirming deposition dates and follow-up of all deadlines
E-filing documents in State, Federal and Appellate Courts
Knowledge of New Jersey and New York state and federal litigation procedure and discovery deadlines.
Other responsibilities may entail supporting attorneys and team members as necessary, managing multiple on-going assignments, effectively communicating with external parties (clients, court officials, opposing counsel offices, etc.), and participating in office-wide projects as needed.
Candidate Qualifications:
The candidate should have an understanding of local, state and federal rules of procedure, particularly for filing purposes
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capacity to work in a team setting and perform tasks/projects independently
Reliable and responsive, particularly due to current remote working environment
Ability to follow directions and ask for guidance if not understood
Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom
Prior experience a plus
Availability/flexibility to work overtime
Hybrid Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm with the flexibility to work overtime when needed
Minimum 3 days a week in office
2 days a week remotely

The annualized salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
