Rivyve Behavioral Health is a 90 bed Behavioral Health Residential Facility (BHRF) located in Bullhead City, AZ, which provides substance abuse and mental health services for adults over the age of 18. We are an evidenced based program treating the whole person (mind, body and spirit). We understand each of our resident’s needs is unique and our goal, regardless of the program setting, is to assist each individual with long-term sobriety and mental health stability and awareness. We deliver services in partnership with government agencies, hospital systems, and health plans.




Job Description


The Behavioral Health Professional(BHP) works in tandem with the other clinical staff to assist residents with addressing mental health and/or substance abuse issues that may be presenting barriers to achieving self-sufficiency. The position is responsible for providing substance abuse rehabilitation, support, and education services in addition to connecting clients with appropriate community supports. The BHP will be responsible to carry a minimum caseload, conduct individual and group sessions and develop treatment plans and record and document residents through progress notes.

Statement of Skills, Knowledge & Abilities


• Maintain in-person productivity with residents, providing counseling, setting up treatment plans and documenting progress notes on each resident under their care.

• Manage assigned caseload under the supervision of the Clinical Director and the Administrative Director.

• Provide substance use disorder counseling, support, and education services to assigned residents.

• Keep organized and detailed documentation such as treatment plans, intake assessments and annual behavioral health assessments.

• Demonstrate the company mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders.

• In conjunction with the Clinical Director, acts as the clinical authority of the program and establishes clinical systems and standards of care.

• Provides safe, effective and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.

• Plans, organizes, directs and supports clinical services and responsible for administrative functioning of clinical services departments.

• Establishes and maintains a recovery culture and philosophy within the program.

• Promotes and maintains good relationships and communication between departments.

• Aids in creating policies and procedures that address clinical quality and risk.

• Completes incident investigations and summaries for regulatory agencies, as necessary.

• Ensures high quality services are being provided to all persons served.

• Assures facility/program honors the rights of persons served.

• Collaborates with other staff in implementation of corporate initiatives, and other services, as needed.

• Responsible for the clinical care provided by the site with emphasis on coordination between clinical disciplines, coordination of clinical activities of the program, and implementation of objectives outlined in the ADHS and AHCCCS Provider Manual.

• Responsible for conducting daily/weekly therapy groups and 1:1 sessions with clients.

• Meets with clients on an individual basis to create a treatment plan, revise and review treatment plans and perform counseling in group and individual settings.

• Documents progress notes in client files(EHR) following each individual session.

• Communicates operational barriers, including service development/network issues, to the Site Administrator and other Direct Services Management staff as necessary. Works cooperatively with site staff to resolve identified issues at the site level.

• Participates in staff meetings, trainings and other activities as required.

• Facilitate and lead curriculum for daytime/evening groups

• Will assess the client’s case management needs and incorporate those needs, goals and objectives in the treatment plan and utilize appropriate staff or referral sources to satisfy client’s needs.

• The therapist will establish and maintain contact with the client’s family/significant other/support network as clinically appropriate during the client’s course of care.

• The therapist will work with client in collaboration to create and implement a discharge plan and in discharge planning.

• Crisis intervention—recognizing emotional stress and utilizing resources to resolve problems.

• Client education—provide current alcohol/drug information and available resources to clients, groups and families.

• Ensures treatment adheres to established policies, procedures and standards of care.

• Ensures complete and accurate records on interventions and consumer behaviors.

• Provides individual/group education and training.

• Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

• Ability to contribute to policy and procedure development in a matter that addresses clinical quality and risk.

• Understanding of local system of care and how the program fits within it.

• Ability to maintain customer and community partner relations.

• Familiarity with a variety of evidence based practices appropriate to population served.





Education & Qualifications



• A master’s degree in the behavioral health field and a minimum of 1 year in the behavioral health field.

• Licensure issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to engage in the practice of behavioral health in Arizona.

• Must be an independently licensed behavioral health professional (LMFT, LISAC, LPC OR LCSW) and be in good standing with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiner

• Must have experience working with mental health consumers, families and advisory boards

• Sensitivity to multi-cultural populations and issues

• Must be CPR and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment

• Current Arizona Driver License and a current satisfactory 36-month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

• Must be 21 years of age.

• Clean background Check.

• Minimum of one-year sobriety from drugs and/or alcohol.

• Must possess a level one Fingerprint Clearance Card (if you do not have a current application must be submitted within 20 days of employment)

• Must be able to perform CPR and First Aid and keep certification current

• Negative TB Test within the past at 12 months

• Certification in CPI training

• Ability to show compassion and empathy with one-on-one contact and over the phone is required

• Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and turn on a dime, as necessary

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

• Ability to strategize, persuade and negotiate

• Ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload

• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar

• Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; and participates in meetings.


Conditions of Employment


• CPR/ First Aid Certified

• Must obtain Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification with 90 days of employment

• Successful candidate must submit to a TB test, or provide a copy of your latest test results in the last 12 months, and Urine analysis.

• Must possess a level one Fingerprint Clearance Card (application must be submitted within 20 days of employment.

• If in recovery, must have a minimum of one-year sobriety prior to application.

• Drivers must have a clean 36-month vehicle record check




Working Conditions



• Moves intermittently during working hours.

• Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility and its premises.

• Is subject to frequent interruptions.

• Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies and personnel all under various conditions and circumstances.

• Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.

• May be involved in community and civic health matters and projects.

• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

• Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, throughout the work day, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.

• Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions, including TB, HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C viruses.

• May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

• Communicates with the medical associate, nursing personnel, and other department personnel
