Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Duties
- Monitor the health and safety of clients, providing patient monitoring as needed.
- Assist with daily living activities including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management.
- Implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of clients, ensuring that they receive appropriate support.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the social well-being of clients.
- Assist individuals with disabilities or autism in developing life skills and promoting independence.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that foster social interaction and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Experience in hospice care, senior care, group home settings, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR and first aid techniques is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Patience and empathy when working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately while adapting to the individual needs of clients.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as required by client needs.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; additional certifications in caregiving or related fields are advantageous.
