Position Overview:
RIZZO International, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer with 5–10 years of practical experience to join our team in our Lake Mary, FL office. This role involves performing structural analysis and design for a variety of civil structures, including buildings, foundations, dams, industrial facilities, and power plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles, experience with industry-standard design codes and software, and the ability to work on complex projects requiring seismic and dynamic analysis.
This position is open only to U.S. citizens due to the nature of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform linear and non-linear structural analysis for static and dynamic systems, including:
- Seismic time history analysis
- Seismic response spectrum analysis
- Harmonic response & random vibration analysis
- Pushover analysis
- Design steel, reinforced concrete, and precast concrete structures, such as:
- Buildings and industrial facilities
- Building and machine foundations
- Dams and culverts
- Power plants (nuclear and fossil fuel)
- Piping, ducting systems, and mechanical equipment supports
- Apply knowledge of structural design codes and standards, including:
- ACI 318, ACI 349
- AISC 360, AISC 341
- ASCE 7, ASCE 4, ASCE 43
- IBC and UBC building codes
- ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Sections I, II, III, and VIII)
- ASME B31.1, B31.3 (Piping Codes)
- IEEE 344, 323, 627, and 693 (Seismic Qualification for NPP Service)
- Work with structural analysis and design software, such as:
- ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, GT-Strudl, RISA 3D
- AutoCAD, Revit Structures
- ABAQUS, LS-DYNA
- Mathcad, Mathematica, MATLAB
- Prepare detailed technical reports and structural design calculations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
- Travel occasionally for project-related assignments.
