POSITION SUMMARY
RIZZO International, Inc. (RIZZO) has an excellent opportunity for a Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist to join the Pittsburgh, PA corporate headquarters.
- The HSE Specialist's responsibilities include developing and implementing Health and Safety policies; participating on audits;
- assessing and addressing risk; acting as a project safety representative; identifying production, process, or service issues;
and presenting solutions.
SCOPE OF POSITION
- Provide input, develop, and maintain policies and procedures
- Interpret and comply with industry standards
- Document HSE activities
- Organize Safety Drills
- Assess Safety Equipment
- Analyze customer grievances and other non-compliance issues
- Inspect data to detect areas for improvement
- Elaborate, recommend, and oversee improvement actions
- Ensure site compliance with federal, state, and OSHA regulations as well as the project and company health and safety plans
- including, but not limited to : activity hazard analysis; emergency response; excavation, drilling, and rigging safety; fire prevention;
severe weather; personal protective equipment (PPE); and injury and illness reporting.
Detect coaching needs and take actions in accordance with these needs in order to ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and
environmental standards
- Support external providers conducting on-site audits
- This position will require approximately 10 30% travel (national and international) with the potential of some travel lasting 3 weeks
at a time
Oversee the implementation and ensure efficiency of the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental program as applicable.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- OSHA 30 Certification
- CPR / First Aid Training
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and MS Windows
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Quality Assurance Experience is a Plus
- Customer service oriented
- Team attitude
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual government security clearance requirements in some contracts
Education :
- 2 years of relevant safety experience; nuclear industry project experience preferred with Bachelor’s Degree or
- 5 years of relevant safety experience; nuclear industry project experience with Associates Degree in related field
- Preferred if degree is in Engineering, Physical Science, Quality Assurance or Mathematics
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $55,000 - $75,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
