RIZZO International Inc. is seeking an experienced civil, structural, or geotechnical engineer with a background in dam engineering to oversee and direct analysis and design work for new and existing dams and water resources facilities in the New York region. This position will be based in our Tarrytown, NY office, where the successful candidate will manage and execute dam-related projects, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
The candidate will be involved in all project phases, from feasibility studies and design development to construction oversight and dam safety inspections. This role requires collaboration with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
Base Pay: $150,000 - $175,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of technical reports and proposals for dam-related projects.
- Develop construction and engineering cost estimates for dam projects.
- Lead and direct hydrologic, hydraulic, stability, seepage, bearing capacity, and settlement analyses for various types of dams (e.g., earthen, rock fill, concrete).
- Oversee the preparation of detailed design/construction drawings and specifications for dams and appurtenant structures.
- Conduct and oversee dam safety inspections and regulatory compliance assessments.
- Provide input on project planning, scheduling, and coordination of engineering tasks.
- Support client and regulatory interactions related to dam safety and infrastructure projects.
- Domestic and occasional international travel, as needed.
- B.S. or M.S. degree in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required.
- 8 years (12 preferred) of experience in dam engineering design, analysis, and safety inspections.
- Strong technical knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, geotechnical stability analysis, and structural evaluations for dam structures.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and compliance frameworks for dam safety.
- U.S. work authorization required.
