Job Description

We’re seeking the right team member who can assemble, inspect and perfect our premium offshore fishing boats for customer pick up. This team member may help with cleaning and final detail of the boat as well. Are you mechanically inclined, have a high attention to detail and ready to work as a team to achieve results?

This team member will focus on the boat body repair, buffing and correction of defects of decks, hardware components, bilge system, water, hydraulic & fuel fittings, hoses, tanks and connections. You will perform electrical assembly of consoles, installs and connect electrical wiring and components followed by inspection of all installed parts.

Essential Functions

  • Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for final finishing and assembly, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Limited welding on small parts, fiberglass repairs or reshaping, and non-skid repairs.
  • Apply compounds and chemicals to repair surfaces.
  • Select abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.
  • Paint repaired surfaces.
  • Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • 3-5 years of prior fiberglass finishing, and/or powder coat finishing and mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines to meet shipment schedules.
  • Proven ability to work with a safety-first attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors; orally and in writing.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dusts masks and respirators.
  • The employee is regularly required to be on their feet; occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Constant use of hands/hand tools for assembly, fine manipulation, inspecting parts, and/or machine operating. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employees must be able to work a 10-hour shift or more in one workday, including planned and unplanned overtime.
  • Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud and is non-climate controlled.
