CONTRACT SPECIALIST – HYBRID – WASHINGTON, DC
Our client, a major membership-based organization advocating for older adults, seeks a Contract Specialist for a 6-month contract assignment. In this role you will assist in preparing and renewing contracts and subcontracts, including licensing agreements, advising on management of contractual rights and obligations, and provide interpretation of terms and conditions. You will also collaborate with management to identify opportunities to streamline contract administration processes and to develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.
This is a hybrid work schedule that supports remote work on Monday and Friday and on-site Tuesday through Thursday in the Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, control and manage the activities and staff involved with the negotiation, preparation, monitoring, and termination of contracts between the company and customers to ensure the fulfillment of all contractual obligations.
- Responsible for the conduct of all communications before, during, and after contract duration.
- Develop and administer contract administration policies, systems, procedures, and methods.
- Manage and coordinate contract administration activities to ensure that contractual obligations are maintained in a manner which ensures good customer relations while representing the interest of the company.
- Advise management of contract obligations, deficiencies, commitments, and performance. Provide interpretation of terms and conditions of contractual obligations.
- Coordinate pre-award negotiations between company and customer/vendors.
- Analyze the impact of modifications and revisions and prepare company recommendations.
- Prepare, negotiate, sign, manage, and renew contracts and subcontracts, including licensing agreements.
- Manage the execution of contracts and ensures compliance with contract requirements.
- Reviews and approves, in conjunction with the Office of General Counsel, all contractual documents for protection of the organization’s contractual posture, satisfaction of customer specifications and adherence to organizational policy.
- Serve as a liaison to upper management for monthly, year-end, and quarterly reports.
- Provide detailed information for the financial status of the business unit or department.
- Supports staff that oversee internal clients as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments (i.e., Office of General Counsel, Financial Services, and Procurement).
- Provide support on a variety of projects, programs, and initiatives that are division- or enterprise-wide.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in contract administration, project management, and business analytics.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Pro.
