Hazardous Materials Compliance Manager

Description

RK Logistics is seeking a Hazardous Materials Compliance Manager responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of hazardous materials across our facilities. This includes overseeing the proper handling, storage, and transportation of these materials to prevent any potential harm to employees, the environment, and the surrounding community. The Hazardous Materials Manager's role is to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive hazardous material management programs, ensuring strict adherence to all relevant state, federal, and company regulations and policies. This includes staying up to date with changing regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections, and providing necessary training and guidance to staff. The goal is to maintain a safe working environment and mitigate any risks associated with hazardous materials.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and implement hazardous material management programs and policies.
• Implement and maintain emergency response planning and drills.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of hazardous material storage areas.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive hazardous material management.
• Manage and maintain regulatory permits and ensure compliance with relevant rules.
• Conduct training on hazardous material management and safety procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
• Track and document training completion to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Manage the proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Maintain accurate records of hazardous material inventories and disposal activities.
• Support overall facility operations to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to you.
  
  

Abilities

• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Fluency and working knowledge of UL Standards
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hazardous materials regulatory management.
• Certifications in Hazardous Materials Management (e.g., HAZWOPER, UL 1642, ISO 45001, NFPA 70E, etc).
