Job Description
A Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor is needed to oversee nursing services and direct care to residents in accordance with good nursing practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and LPNs
- Administer and record medication, treatments, and monitoring as ordered
- Review care plans with NAs on monthly summary days and update them to reflect resident conditions
- Communicate resident transfers to immediate family and department heads via email
- Encourage resident participation in scheduled activities
- Assist RN Supervisor with annual evaluations of nursing assistants
- Accurately complete incident reports or assist team members in writing reports
- Count narcotics with another nurse at the beginning and end of each shift
- Maintain an accurate inventory of resident belongings
- Supervise and direct resident care by nursing assistants to ensure prescribed plans of care are carried out
- Knowledge of medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting, and recording
- Ability to maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors, and co-workers
- Good physical health and mental alertness to perform job functions and complete work assignments in a timely manner
