Responsibilities:
- Expertise with corporate governance, transactional matters, and general business issues.
- Proficient with corporate law, contract management, and employment law.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor, service, and employment agreements, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Assist in developing and implementing company policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
- Manage disputes, litigation, and regulatory inquiries, liaising with outside counsel as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and compliance, to support business initiatives.
- Provide training and support to staff on legal matters and compliance issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with legal standards.
Preference:
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a law office environment.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise legal documents.
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- Knowledge of general law principles is a plus.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Experience as a paralegal, 5 years (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, law, or related field (required)
- Experience within the mortgage or financial services industry (preferred)
- Contract law and employment law (preferred)
