Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineer to design, develop, and integrate communication and security systems , including Wi-Fi, RF networks, CCTV, access control, and networking solutions . The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in system architecture, hardware selection, software configuration, and system deployment. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Development :
- Design, develop, and implement communication and security systems , including Wi-Fi, RF networks, CCTV, access control, and IP networking solutions .
- Develop system architectures, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Select hardware and software components that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Design and optimize wireless communication networks , including Wi-Fi and RF-based solutions for transit and security applications.
Integration & Testing :
Integrate hardware, software, and network components into fully functional systems.Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure performance, security, and compliance.Work with field teams to deploy and commission wireless and RF communication networks in real-world environments.Perform RF surveys and Wi-Fi site assessments to ensure proper coverage and signal strength.Project Coordination & Technical Support :
Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality installations.Provide technical guidance, training, and support to customers and internal teams.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance, security, and network connectivity, including RF and Wi-Fi-related challenges .Compliance & Documentation :
Ensure designs comply with FCC, cybersecurity best practices, and industry regulations .Develop technical reports, installation guidelines, and system operational procedures.Maintain documentation on RF system planning, frequency coordination, and network security configurations .Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).3 years of experience in designing and integrating communication and security systems (Wi-Fi, RF networks, CCTV, access control, IP networking).Strong knowledge of IP-based security systems, network design, wireless communication technologies, and RF principles .Experience with RF spectrum analysis, signal propagation, and frequency coordination .Proficiency in Wi-Fi network planning, access point configuration, and optimization .Knowledge of network protocols (TCP / IP, VLAN, VPN, PoE, 802.11 standards) and cybersecurity best practices.Hands-on experience with hardware configuration, system testing, and troubleshooting .Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator), CCNA, CompTIA Network , Axis Certified Professional, Genetec Security Center, or Lenel Access Control are a plus.Experience in transit, critical infrastructure, or public safety technology .Familiarity with RF planning tools (Ekahau, iBwave, or similar) and NIST cybersecurity frameworks .Why Join RL Controls?
