RL Enterprise Recruiting & Staffing is hiring directly for a client in the manufacturing and industrial operations sector. This is a direct-hire, full-time permanent position located in Newberry, South Carolina.
Position Overview
The Lean Manager will assist in leading Lean transformation initiatives across multiple operational sites. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role will coach managers, supervisors, and staff in the application of Lean methodologies, facilitate continuous improvement projects, and drive operational efficiency. The Lean Manager will work closely with all levels of the organization to ensure the successful implementation and sustainment of Lean principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize operational improvement opportunities.
- Train and mentor employees on Lean methodologies, ensuring successful implementation and sustainment.
- Lead Kaizen events and drive the execution of action plans.
- Develop and manage key metrics and performance indicators to track Lean transformation progress.
- Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to assist with operational improvements.
- Ensure visual management systems are in place for clear communication of Lean initiatives.
- Support and report to the Lean Steering Committee, summarizing progress and results.
- Identify barriers to Lean implementation and communicate solutions to leadership.
- Lead the celebration and recognition of successful Lean initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience, Associate’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of direct industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading Lean or continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Professional Lean Certification and commitment to continuous Lean learning.
- Proven ability to manage teams and facilitate projects that deliver measurable business results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience facilitating Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) events, Standard Work events, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and process optimization projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a manufacturing setting, requiring frequent movement across various operational areas.
- Exposure to hazards such as noise, fumes, extreme temperatures, dust, welding arcs, chemicals, and confined spaces.
- The role involves standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
- Fast-paced, demanding environment with occasional long work hours to support Lean initiatives in a multi-shift, seven-day operational facility.
- Must be willing to travel to other sites.
