Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. - Patient Interaction: Greet and prepare patients for examinations, record medical histories, and document vital signs.
- Clinical Support: Assist healthcare professionals during medical procedures, administer medications and vaccines under supervision, and collect specimens for laboratory testing.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule and manage patient appointments, update and maintain accurate patient records, handle billing processes, and manage insurance documentation.
- Facility Maintenance: Prepare and sanitize examination rooms, sterilize medical instruments, and ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with information regarding medical procedures, treatment plans, medications, and dietary instructions.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and standards, including patient confidentiality and infection control protocols.
Requirements and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification: Certification from a recognized medical assistant program (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant [CMA] or Registered Medical Assistant [RMA]) is advantageous.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a medical or clinical setting is desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical terminology, coding procedures, clinical pharmacology, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Understanding of patient care principles, medical procedures, human anatomy, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and OSHA standards.
