Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals with mental health challenges. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Observe and document patient behavior, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Implement behavior management techniques to support patients in coping with their conditions.
- Assist in crisis intervention strategies to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Engage patients in therapeutic activities that promote recovery and enhance social skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in psychiatric or behavioral health preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a hospital setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of psychiatric principles, medication administration, and behavior management techniques.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Previous experience as a nurse or in a related healthcare field is an advantage but not required.
