Our client, a custom equipment manufacturer specializing in aerospace, sterilization, and environmental chambers, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their growing team in Southampton, PA!
In this role, you'll be responsible for procuring a variety of components—both electrical and mechanical—that are critical to the production of custom equipment. Building strong vendor relationships, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining procurement efficiency will be essential to your success. Key Responsibilities:
- Procure electrical and mechanical components to support the production of custom equipment, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and orders, maintaining compliance with project specifications.
- Build and manage strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Track procurement records, including costs, delivery schedules, and vendor performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, and quality) to address material needs and resolve procurement issues.
- Review technical specifications and contract documents to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Prioritize and manage procurement requests efficiently, balancing competing demands.
- Resolve discrepancies in purchase orders, deliveries, or invoicing.
- Provide reports on procurement activities, including cost savings and vendor performance.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment
- Experience buying both electrical and mechanical components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including requisitioning, purchasing, and vendor management.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining vendor relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring on-time deliveries.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems experience.
Salary: 75,000 - 85,000
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a-5pm (flexible start time)
Location: Southampton PA (Onsite)
