The Client Leader will shape the evolution of RLF by contributing to the strategic growth of the firm. The position will secure and develop new strategic, targeted client relationships and advance existing client relationships toward building a diversified Healthcare client portfolio resulting in a sustainable and profitable market sector. This position will work effectively with the Market Sector Leader (MSL) and business development support to develop and implement strategic marketing goals and annual revenue targets. They will also partner with Project Managers, Discipline Leaders, Key Technical Specialists, Subject Matter Experts, and other members of the overall design team regarding successful project delivery for client satisfaction. The Client Leader will play a pivotal role in nurturing and growing our most valued client relationships, ensuring their continued success and loyalty.
In this role you will:
- Direct all work associated with single or multiple clients depending on volume.
- Work closely with the Market Sector Leader (MSL) to develop new opportunities and set marketing goals with a specific client(s), to grow the client relationship, and lead client engagement strategies, while creating and maintaining high value relationships.
- Help build a holistic client organization strategy.
- Develop strategies for finding new streams of revenue and promoting technical innovation with clients.
- Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the client portfolio to drive revenue growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-value clients, developing strong relationships based on trust and understanding of their unique needs.
- Proactively engage with clients to understand their business goals, challenges, and opportunities, aligning our engineering solutions to meet their objectives.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., marketing, engineering, design, and project management) to ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients, providing strategic insights, performance updates, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and competitors to provide valuable market insights to clients and internally.
- Lead client relationships including establishing executive-level points of contact with multiple clients. Develop a keen understanding of the client’s strategic business goals and objectives.
- Proactively provide perspective and strategic recommendations to clients adding value to their business as a trusted partner and advisor.
- Practice continuous learning behaviors to develop a thought-leading voice in the healthcare market that translates into trusted relationships with new and existing clients.
- Manage and develop meaningful dialogue with clients in the market sector and expand those relationships to the rest of the firm.
- Identify and develop strategic target relationships that align with RLF’s strategic plan that achieve desired sales results.
- Build a business leader network with key influencers in the Healthcare industry.
- Present Healthcare market-focused thought leadership at industry national organization conferences attended by healthcare market influencers and decision makers.
- Develop, mentor, and advocate for high-potential staff toward promotion within the firm.
- Develop and demonstrate exceptional leadership behaviors consistent with RLF’s culture.
- Additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, Planning, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience in the AEC industry.
- Licensed or accredited professional a plus.
- Ability to build and sustain executive-level relationships with healthcare leaders, decision-makers, and influencers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be active in professional societies, industry organizations, and appropriate political circles that are appropriate to the client they are assigned to promote community engagement and represent the RLF brand.
- Will have strong time management skills and the ability to work flexible hours and attend events outside of the normal workday.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities for revenue growth.
- Subject matter expert resulting in recognition as a thought leader in the design of healthcare facilities.
- The ability to build rapport and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including collaboration and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups involved in the design and construction of a project.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

Amount of Travel Required:
This position will require occasional travel, some of which may be international.
