Job Summary
Responsible for evaluating the company’s financial records, internal controls, and operational processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves conducting audits, identifying risks, and recommending improvements to optimize financial performance and business operations. The position also supports external audits, including those related to 401(k), insurance, and employee benefits.
Essential Duties
- Conduct detailed audits of financial statements, transactions, and ledgers to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
- Verify financial data, ensuring proper accounting methods and reporting standards.
- Assess the accuracy of revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
- Evaluate internal controls and business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, or potential fraud.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial integrity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Develop and update SOPs in alignment with organizational goals.
- Train and supervise staff on standard procedures and best practices.
- Monitor compliance and performance related to SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor adherence to corporate governance standards.
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Present audit results to senior management and provide actionable recommendations.
- Maintain audit records and ensure proper documentation of audit activities.
- Work with department heads to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Assist in external audits related to financials, 401(k), insurance, and employee benefits.
- Ensure the proper implementation of audit recommendations and track their effectiveness.
- Conduct periodic risk assessments to proactively address financial and operational vulnerabilities.
- Must have a valid DL
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, CIA, or CFE certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of auditing, accounting, or financial analysis experience.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of data analysis and audit tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapting to shifting schedules and priorities as needed.
Safety/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lb.
- Mostly sedentary position, some walking, standing, and light lifting required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements.
Reports to: CEO
Pay Rate: $70,000 - $90,000 per hour
Classification: Exempt, In Person, Full Time
Supervisory: No direct reports
