Underground Journeyman

Job Summary

We are looking for Underground Utilities Labors who are responsible for the assembly and connecting of pipe systems for water, sewer, and storm drain.

Job Requirements

• Laborers must have knowledge of working pipelaying practices and a commitment to safety.
• Laborers have basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
• Laborers operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery: Backhoe, Excavator, Water Truck, Jackhammer, Jumping Jack (Wacker), Roto Hammer, Cut-Off Saw, Portable Water Pump, Saws-All’s, shovels, rake, sledgehammer, pipe wrench, and small hand tools.
• Install new pipes around a property using an eclectic assortment of tools, including laser levels, grade rods and levels.
• Layout and excavate trenches, per staking, for installation of pipes and backfill once they are in place with the approved materials.
• This role will be physically demanding at times and will require you to work extended hours in various types of environments and weather conditions.

Experience

• 3-5 years of related construction experience required.

Safety/Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift to 100 lbs.
• Ability to walk without sitting for extended periods.
• This position requires constant climbing, squatting, lifting, and pulling.

• Ability to work in varying outdoor temperatures, and wet conditions.

Education

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.

Reports to: Division 14 manager

Classification: Non-Exempt, In person, Full Time

Pay Rate: $xx.xx-$30.00 per hour.

Supervisory: This position reports to field Forman
