Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a CAD Design Technician at RLK Engineering. The CAD Designer will be responsible for technical drawing, creating construction drawings, and design engineering on various projects. They will be responsible for assisting the engineer to meet deadlines and production needs.
Required Skills
- Proficient in specialized civil design applications for AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Proficient in other widely used computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office).
- Basic knowledge of computer file directories and use.
- Knowledge of TxDOT and standard civil construction plans, details, and related documents,
- Fundamental understanding of a variety of basic civil engineering principles and design procedures including but not limited to drainage, pipe hydraulics, stormwater detention, roadway and pavement layout grading, earthwork computations, water and wastewater systems, stormwater pollution prevention, etc.
- Able to assist in the preparation of construction quantity and cost estimates.
Required Experience
- 2 year technical/associates degree OR 2-5 years of experience as a CAD Technician (or equivalent)
- High School graduate or GED
