RM Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Our products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.
The Maintenance Supervisor will direct all functions of the maintenance work force for their assigned shift, ensuring efficient manufacturing process capabilities, adherence to safety and quality standards, and effective team leadership.

The Maintenance Supervisor will direct all functions of the maintenance work force for their assigned shift, ensuring efficient manufacturing process capabilities, adherence to safety and quality standards, and effective team leadership.
Maintenance Supervisor Duties
- Provide daily supervisory leadership to the hourly maintenance workforce, and oversees any necessary onsite maintenance contractor coordination.
- Provide individual team member job assignments and track the progress to completion.
- Provides supervisory assistance to the maintenance team in diagnosing and correcting malfunctions in machinery and equipment
- Provide input into the development of preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment.
- Assists with developing maintenance department employee relations by continued communication of all information affecting them and through the conduct of regular shift team meetings.
- Enforce safety policies by conducting inspections, hazard assessments, and ensuring OSHA and company compliance.
- Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities using the CMMS system, maintaining records of repairs, parts usage, and inspections.
- Analyze downtime trends and track maintenance metrics to drive continuous improvement in plant performance.
- Assists with and leads the implementation of reliability process improvement through TPM, Lean, Autonomous Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and other reliability tools, including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation.
Maintenance Supervisor Experience:
- B.S. Degree in Asset Reliability or Engineering related field strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of food manufacturing maintenance or production supervision required.
- Proficient in Lean Manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma, TPM, 5-S and other disciplines, preferred.
- Fluent with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Problem-Solving methods (DMAIC, 5-Why, A3,), preferred.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance CMMS systems, preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities focused on equipment reliability and process optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance best practices, GMP, OSHA, and quality control procedures.
- Must be flexible with regards to shift start and end times. Must also be able to work off-shifts and weekends as well as attend meetings during off-shift hours as necessary to support the plant and manage the maintenance function.
