We are seeking Maintenance Technicians on all shifts. The ideal technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance to install, maintain, and disassemble machines, machinery parts, and mechanical equipment.
RM Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Our products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.
Maintenance Technician Details:

- Must be flexible to work various shifts which could be 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts (1st, 2nd and 3rd shift)
- Must be available to work weekends, and overtime.
Maintenance Technician Duties:
- Utilize knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronics systems to repair and maintain sitewide electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment and processes, including troubleshooting problems when operators report issues with their equipment.
- Respond to production needs and troubleshoots machines and machine/line control systems, performs repairs and preventative maintenance on production and non-production equipment. Provides both production and maintenance supervision with timely follow-up communication on repairs.
- Responsible for completing all daily, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities as assigned with regards to food safety and the reduction of equipment failures.
- Work with other members of Maintenance to contribute improvements to/update all PM procedures.
- Work with other members of Maintenance to prioritize maintenance jobs, help collect and analyze downtime information, gives input on all maintenance opportunities to improve plant operations.
- Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools, preventative maintenance tools, etc.
- Utilize and work with maintenance trades and components such as electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, hydraulic, pneumatic, and combustion systems.
- Troubleshoot, modify, and install equipment by reading and comprehending electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals.
- Document completed work and the conditions found utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary.
- Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment.
- Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, aerial lifts and other mobile equipment.
- Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Prior education or experience with electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
- 2 year technical degree or Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 – 3 years as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems efficiently and perform effective repairs.
- Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Previous experience CMMS system is a plus.
- Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
