R.M. Palmer Company, LLC designs, produces, packages, and ships seasonal chocolate novelties. Its products include filled chocolates, solid chocolates, chocolate bars and balls, chocolate cups and coins, chocolate patties, and seasonal products. In addition to their own branded products, the Company co-manufactures both seasonal and everyday products for other large branded companies. Today, the Company operates out of two manufacturing facilities and one distribution facility with ~600 full-time employees. R.M. Palmer Company, LLC has some of the most differentiated manufacturing capabilities in the industry as one of the only companies in the U.S. able to make hollow molded chocolate candy products and multicolor chocolate candy novelties.
The Plant HR Business Partner works side by side with plant leadership to provide value-added services that enhance employee relations, talent development, and organizational growth. The HRBP administers HR policies, procedures, and programs and supports business operations across multiple shifts in a large volume manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Partner with plant leadership to enhance culture, collaboration, and retention.
- Provide HR guidance, policy interpretation, and strategic support.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to improve morale and productivity.
- Manage employee relations, including investigations, discipline, and performance concerns.
- Coach managers on communication, feedback, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and ethical standards.
- Oversee learning, development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Conduct HR training on compliance, leadership, and performance management.
- Support onboarding, orientation, and talent acquisition efforts.
- Monitor attendance policies and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Track and report HR initiatives to align with company goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters.
- At least 5 years of HR experience in a mid-size or larger non-union manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Supports business operations on all shifts and may require a flexible work schedule as needed.
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing setting.
