Position: Duke Family Room Manager
Reports to: VP of Healthcare Partnerships and Programs
Classification: Full Time—Exempt
Starting Salary: $43,000-$55,000

Position Summary
As a member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle team, the Duke Family Room Manager will manage the launch, implementation and execution of the new Family Room program at Duke Children’s Hospital as well as assist in building and maintaining relationships with hospital staff. Key responsibilities include program development and management with a strong focus on recruiting, managing and scheduling volunteers. This position will play a key role in providing support to pediatric patient caregivers and will be located at both the Durham Ronald McDonald House and within Duke Children’s Hospital.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Volunteer management includes recruitment, interviewing, training, scheduling, and appreciation of RMHC hospital-based volunteers.
- Build relationships with key hospital staff to ensure consistent Family Room referrals.
- Provide staffing in program space when volunteers are not available.
- Communication and public relations work relating to the RMHC Triangle Programs.
- Ensure adequate supplies are maintained in the Family Room and help maintain storage areas of supplies.
- Program development and support including planning and managing budget; soliciting in-kind donations, establishing procedures and policies; delivering food and supplies to keep programs stocked.
- Tracking the activity, output, and outcomes of the RMHC Triangle Hospital based programs.
- Engage in raising community awareness of House, Family Room, and other program needs and mission.
- Develop and lead strategic and operational efforts to ensure growth of the program and ensure that the day-to-day management of the Family Room program is optimal.

- Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Must be able to use hands/fingers to use computer equipment, files, phones, etc. to discharge duties
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including some nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must possess a current NC driver’s license and be insurable under RMHC Triangle policy
- Must comply with Duke Hospital Volunteer vaccine requirements

Educational and Professional Experience
- A bachelor's degree or 3 years of related work experience.
- Previous volunteer management and program management experience preferred.
