Summary:
The Fabrication Supervisor oversees daily operations at our Odessa, Texas facility. This role is responsible for managing fabrication and welding activities, coordinating shop workflow, ensuring quality control, and enforcing safety standards. The position supports DHI’s operational goals through hands-on leadership and technical knowledge of fabrication techniques. Current projects include frac tank refurbishment, equipment conversions, and fabrication of water treatment equipment such as gun barrels, DAF units, injection skids, and pump skids.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily shop operations to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Schedule fabrication and welding tasks according to project priorities
- Assign responsibilities to team members and guide work to meet quality and timeline goals
- Enforce safety procedures in accordance with company policy and OSHA regulations
- Manage equipment maintenance and verify all tools and machines are in working order
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Project Manager
- Support performance management through mentoring, identifying training needs, and evaluations
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in quality and output
- Oversee all fabrication processes including preparation, cutting, forming, fitting, welding, and assembly
- Track and manage inventory of materials and consumables
- Coordinate restocking needs with the Project Manager and Project Services Manager
- Maintain detailed documentation of job progress, time tracking, and material usage
- Work with third-party welders and contractors as needed to complete project deliverables
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or welding certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of fabrication experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong working knowledge of welding and fabrication methods, materials, and quality practices
- Proven leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective team coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills
Requirements:
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of our Odessa facility
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Proficient in English; Spanish-speaking is a plus
- Able to stand, bend, lift, and move up to 75 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in industrial conditions, including heat, noise, and outdoor exposure
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional weekend work may be required depending on project needs.
Location:
West Odessa, Texas
Travel to job sites within a 4-hour radius may be required for field repairs.
