Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of DHI’s vehicle fleet, including pumps, tractors, trailers, light plants, and skid steers. The technician will properly diagnose, repair, and document all work performed. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of dealership experience and be familiar with factory GM and/or Ford software. Responsibilities also include managing parts and supply inventory. All employees are expected to perform their duties in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner. This is a team-oriented position ideal for someone eager to learn and grow with the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance program to promote equipment reliability and reduce failures.
- Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels for parts and supplies.
- Monitor and oversee all third-party vendor repairs when approved by management.
- Conduct regular inspections on all DHI-owned equipment for necessary repairs or preventative maintenance.
- Perform major repair work as required.
- Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
- Clean equipment and tools to ensure reliability and safe operation.
- Maintain accountability for tools and supplies on the service truck; restock as needed.
- Complete all required documentation via ARI Garage.
- Provide training to DHI field operations personnel.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Complete projects and tasks assigned by the Lead Technician and Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
Skill Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet DHI’s insurance requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of dealership experience or equivalent with dealer software.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, diesel engines, hydraulics, centrifugal pumps, vacuum systems, and mechanical seals.
- Familiarity with OEM-required oil sampling programs.
- Understanding of safety procedures and compliance.
- Intermediate knowledge of computers/laptops.
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Must be able to travel to off-site repair locations.
- Ability to use battery and charging system test equipment.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- Must own a complete personal toolset (½ drive and below) and secure toolbox; willingness to invest in additional tools.
- Ability to use ARI Fleet Management software.
- ASE Certifications preferred: A4 (Steering & Suspension), A5 (Brakes), A6 (Electrical/Electronic Systems).
- Technical acumen and ability to collaborate effectively with both field and corporate teams.
- Agile, fast learner with a drive for continuous education.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday work depending on workload. Minimum of 40 hours per week. Candidate should expect to receive texts, emails, and phone communications from the team 7 days a week.
