Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Computational Scientist to join our cutting-edge research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-performance computing, Finite element analysis, and numerical library development. This role requires a deep understanding of advanced computational techniques and the ability to develop and optimize numerical algorithms for large-scale simulations. This position offers a unique blend of scientific research, software development, and practical application, with opportunities for collaboration with leading universities and government labs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in high-performance computing and numerical simulation.
- Develop and implement high-performance computing solutions for complex numerical simulation problems for fluid dynamics, structural analysis, and other scientific domains.
- Design, develop, and optimize numerical libraries for large-scale simulations.
- Conduct research and stay updated on the latest advancements in HPC, CFD, and numerical methods.
- Publish research findings in reputable conferences and journals.
- Collaborate on proposal development for government funded research projects.
- Contribute to a collaborative research environment including research partners (leading universities and government laboratories) and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computational Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Expertise in high-performance computing, parallel programming and numerical simulation.
- Extensive experience developing FEA libraries and CFD solvers.
- Proficiency using and developing high performance numerical libraries (e.g., LAPACK, PETSc, Trilinos, MFEM, Moose, Fenics, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GPU programming and optimization.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to CFD and numerical simulation.
- Knowledge of data compression techniques and their application to scientific data.
- Experience with distributed computing and cloud-based HPC platforms.
- Previous experience in a research or academic setting.
