Internship Experience Opportunities
- Collaborate: Work with project plans and management to ensure smooth execution.
- Review Bids: Evaluate contractor proposals to select the best partners.
- Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Submittals: Review shop drawings, product data, and other project submittals for conformance with plans and specs. Process, coordinate, and distribute submittals in a timely manner, maintaining a log to expedite critical items.
- Schedules: Assist in developing the baseline CPM with the Superintendent and Project Manager, track progress weekly, and update schedules monthly. Quantify project impacts and manage notice provisions.
- Buy-out: Conduct buy-out, issue subcontracts for assigned scopes of work, and perform job cost allocation for subcontract and purchase order awards.
- RFIs: Process and log RFIs from Forma/subcontractors, coordinate responses, and provide timely notice of any cost/time impacts.
- Changes to the Work: Identify and provide timely notice of changed conditions, prepare Change Order Proposals (COPs), maintain a COP log, generate subcontract modifications, and update as-built drawings.
- Coordination: Assist the Superintendent with subcontractor and supplier coordination, expedite material deliveries, and identify special inspection requirements.
- Payment: Help develop the Schedule of Values, compile data for monthly payment applications, assist in reviewing subcontractor/supplier payments, and ensure proper cost coding of invoices.
- Punchlist: Create and distribute punchlists for incomplete/deficient work, follow up with subcontractors, and secure project acceptance by the architect and owner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic Focus: Engineering or Construction Management majors preferred.
- Tech Skills: Strong computer skills, Procore experience a plus.
- Proactive Attitude: Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic setting.
