Commercial Construction Project Executive

Mid sized GC firm Seeking seasoned commercial / civil project executive with potential available.

Job Overview :

The Construction Project Executive oversees construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership of project teams, as well as liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.  Some travel will be required with this position.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Project Planning and Management :

1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and milestones.

2. Oversee all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction planning to project closeout.

3. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.

2. Team Leadership and Coordination :

1. Lead and manage project teams, including project managers, engineers, architects, and construction workers.

2. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

3. Conduct regular meetings to update team members and stakeholders on project status and resolve any issues.

3. Client and Stakeholder Management :

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns promptly.

2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

3. Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality projects that meet or exceed expectations.

4. Financial Management :

1. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.

2. Prepare financial reports and forecasts, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.

3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.

5. Quality and Safety Assurance :

1. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction meets industry standards and regulations.

2. Develop and maintain health and safety plans, ensuring a safe work environment for all project personnel.

3. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

6. Risk Management :

1. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.

2. Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.

3. Ensure all project documentation is complete and accurate, including contracts, permits, and compliance reports.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) are a plus.

2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

3. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.

5. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and industry best practices.

6. Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).

7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results.

Work Environment :

1. This position may require travel to various project sites and client meetings.

2. The work environment may include both office settings and on-site locations, with exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environments.

Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
