Road Ranger, a growing multi-state Travel Center company, is seeking to add a Food Service Specialist to its Operations Department in the Midwest Central District!
The Food Service Specialist is responsible for the assigned quick service restaurants as well as all Road Ranger prepared food concepts within the assigned district. This position has shared P&L accountability and development responsibility, franchise compliance responsibility, and food safety responsibility for the assigned locations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Mentor, train, and develop personnel, and maintain strong workforce development
- Maintain full compliance with Franchisor’s standards
- Execute all Company and Franchisor initiatives and directives
- Enforce strict food safety standards and compliance with health codes
- Participate in Developing, implementing, and evaluating short and long-term goals that address business challenges and opportunities
- Identify and correct opportunities for improvement in food operations
- Instill a culture of accountability, improving the customer experience and driving a culture of coaching, engagement and teamwork
- Instill a culture of 100% complete customer satisfaction
- Must maintain and promote a great attitude as well as Teamwork in each business unit as well as the district assigned.
- Champions ideas and those that are entrusted to you.
- Fill in where needed to ensure that all business units remain open for normal business hours.
- Over 5 years of management experience overseeing multi-unit food service operations in either the restaurant, franchise or the grocery industry
- Highly professional and ethical with unquestioned integrity
- Understanding of the P&L and how it impacts the individual unit, district and company performance
- Demonstrated ability to assess performance using key metrics and ability to quickly identify improvement opportunities, and collaborating across the organization to take the appropriate actions to address these
- Results Orientation: Demonstrates a sense of urgency to overcome obstacles and achieve measurable results. Resourceful and driven. Strong planning, organizing, delegating and decision-making abilities
- Self-Confident; willing to act with appropriate information
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to recruit and attract talent.
- Passion for the business and an intense drive to understand the goals, financial targets, deliverables and challenges the business faces to deliver results
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, coupled with good business and financial acumen
- Comfortable with extensive travel; possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work long hours, atypical shifts and on call 24 hours a day
