JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to employees and assists with tasks throughout all areas of the HR department.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources management and management as needed
· Answer employee calls and emails in a processional and timely manner
· Handle all the onboarding for union employees and responsible for development and communication of an effective HR onboarding experience
· Manage the new employee orientation program, including developing and updating participants, setting up room preparing materials (e.g. handouts)
· Maintain accurate payroll records in the HRIS and resolve discrepancies in timely manner
· Conduct background checks and drug screening for all employees
· Assist in creating, implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated clearly to all employees
· Ensure legal compliance y routinely auditing employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws
· Work closely with the Recruiter for the onboarding process
· Maintains and audits accurate and confidential employee records
· Assist with the front desk coverage when needed
· Assist with miscellaneous HR functions as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
· Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
· Capability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism
· Thorough understanding of employment laws and Human Resources best practices
· Team-oriented individual and ability to foster cooperative and diplomatic relationships with other departments, while working collaboratively as part of a team
· Skilled in multitasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
· Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities as required
· Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 2 to 4 years of experience in human resources, preferably in construction or manufacturing industries with unions
· Previous experience with onboarding process
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Bilingual in Spanish, is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand as necessary
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
