General Manager - Automotive/Diesel Repair Shop

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and team-oriented individual capable of leading, directing, and overseeing our extremely busy 24/7 mobile operation as well as the full service shop at our Indianapolis location. Qualified applicants must be able to work at a brisk pace for extended periods of time in a high stress environment. Must be a clear and concise communicator with both customers and technicians. 100% complete customer satisfaction by being the best shop in the industry is the Road Warrior way!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Heavy focus on customer service and a customer first attitude is required
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills are required including the ability to resolve any and all customer issues quickly and efficiently
• Ability to lead by example, encourage, and build team morale is required
• Enrich company culture through individual creative contributions while also being willing to uphold, respect, and encourage all company traditions, standards, and practices currently in place
• Handle high volume of phone calls from customers, vendors and Road Warrior employees
• Delegate as needed to subordinate employees to ensure balanced workloads and efficient turnaround time on all customer projects
• Schedule and coordinate service orders with customers and assign work to technicians
• Create and manage 24/7 on-call schedules to ensure technicians are available for our customers Anytime...Anywhere!
• Manage and oversee shop and mobile technicians to maximize efficiency, productivity, and net profits
• Assign and oversee jobs of a daily, weekly, and monthly nature as needed for 1st shift, 2nd shift, weekend shift, and out of state traveling mechanics
• Encourage safe work practices in the shop and on job sites
• Assist coworkers and demonstrate willingness to work as a team
• Regularly report and communicate status updates about work assignments and deadlines to accounts receivables department
• Interview and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants
• Provide feedback and/or lead performance reviews, disciplinary write ups, and termination if needed.
• Perform additional tasks and duties as required

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in an automotive or truck repair shop/environment
• Well rounded mechanical knowledge pertaining to auto/truck repair
• 3-5 years of management experience.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in business or related field preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to walk in and out of shop and service trucks including climbing stairs

Other Requirements:

• Visits to customer locations
• Attend off-site Operations Team meetings in the evening once a month
• Remote availability for night and weekend emergencies
• Ability to stay composed and act with professionalism at all times

Compensation:

Salary

BASE: $60-$85K

WITH BONUS POTENTIAL: UP TO $125K*

*Bonuses at Road Warrior are EARNED not GIVEN. For this role, bonus pay is based on meeting monthly shop productivity and company net profit goals.

Additional Information and Requirements:

We are looking for drug free individuals who have a clean MVR, valid driver's license, and a clean criminal background.
