Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists customers in selecting required parts
- Processes orders for parts directly with customers at the counter and by phone
- Assists shop technicians by retrieving and ordering parts for existing work orders
- Up-sells specials as well as informs customers of companion part requirements
- Provides price quotes, receives payments, and obtains credit authorizations
- Provides aid, promotion, and training to assigned customer in the utilization of technology solutions
- Documents customer information to build comprehensive database to include machine lists, customer contacts, influencers, and parts and service purchasers
- Follows a routine follow up schedule on parts quotes to promote sales wins
- Promotes current parts marketing and sales programs
- Tracks daily call reports/lead tracking in CRM
- Develops strong working relationship with mainline salesperson and PSR to form a strong support team for customers
- Leverages manufacturer parts and service initiatives to maximize margins and grow discretionary funds
- Be familiar with the latest industry trends and technical advancements and successfully apply them in daily activities
- Coordinates any procurement of necessary parts in conjunction with the assistance of parts manager
- Provides follow-up and escalation of back orders when necessary; thinking outside of the box when parts are not available
- Orders parts from other approved vendors when necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems and MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in parts identification and order processing
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional travel as assigned for training or to perform work at other locations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb and use a ladder
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt)
- High school diploma or GED
- Customer facing sales experience
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the heavy machinery or automotive industry, dealership experience preferred
- Komatsu and/or Takeuchi equipment experience preferred
