RoadGuard Interlock by Draeger US Interlock is hiring Service Technicians throughout Virginia! We are the leading provider of ignition interlock services in Virginia and are looking for great people to join our Team as we continue to grow! A Snapshot of the Role...

Our Service Technicians are truly the face of company to our customers! In a typical week, you'll install and remove the ignition interlock system in customer's vehicles. Once it's installed, you'll train them how to successfully use the device and set their expectations for the coming months. These same customers will then return monthly or bi-monthly for their monthly service visit where you'll download the device data, inspect the system, and calibrate the device. In between working with customers, you'll be responsible for ensuring your location is a clean, safe environment for everyone.

Primary Responsibilities...

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Install and remove ignition interlock device systems in customer vehicles
  • Perform monthly collection of data from the Ignition Interlock Device via computer downloads
  • Calibration of the interlock devices to make sure it is within state regulated limits
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our customers and referral network
  • Collection of fees, inventory control, filing, scheduling of appointments and
  • Maintain a professional and safe work environment.
  • Continuous education in 12v technology and advancements
  • Maintain a positive and caring atmosphere for customers
  • Ability to think independently and work through service challenges
  • Correspondence with management when challenges are presented
  • Maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and security of pertinent information and records
  • Adherence to all state and federal rules, regulations, and statutes
  • Perform general troubleshooting
  • Availability to take after-hours and weekend calls
  • Any other duty, as assigned

We're looking for someone with at least...

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Professional verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Courteous yet courageous interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and resourceful thinking for potentially challenging or high stress situations
  • Able to work independently

On our wish list, but not required...

  • Familiar with digital multimeter use
  • Previous automotive electronics experience (car audio, remote starts, etc.)
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous experience as electronic technician or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry
  • Automotive mechanical skills (wire identification, soldering, etc.)
  • Electrical systems training
