About The Role
The Janitor is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our corporate headquarters in Hammond, IN. This role involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains in excellent condition. The Janitor diligently follows safety procedures and standards while using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. By keeping the facility clean and well-maintained, the Janitor contributes to the overall health and well-being of the community served by the building. This position is crucial in creating a positive and professional atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and notify management when re-ordering is necessary
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and/or fixing minor leaks
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous custodial / cleaning experience preferred
- Frequently move packages weighing up to 50 - 70 lbs
Compensation
- Competitive Hourly Pay: $17 per hour
- Weekly Pay with Direct Deposit
- Shift: Part-time, 5 day work weeks with consistent hours (2-3 hours per day, up to 20 hours per week)
