Position Summary:
This role is responsible for inside sales, customer service, order processing, task assignment, monitoring production schedules, and various sign-making and general shop duties. The position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient production and smooth daily operations.
Essential Functions:
- Handle inside sales, customer inquiries, and phone orders. Accurately interpret and process sign orders using a custom program (Vista by Viewpoint).
- Assign tasks and oversee progress to maintain a consistent production flow.
- Provide guidance and instructions to sign-making team members.
- Operate sign-making software to produce custom signs and graphics.
- Apply letters and designs to sign faces with precision.
- Assist with inventory management by gathering, lifting, and moving materials such as reflective sheeting, aluminum, plywood, tools, and finished signs.
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure accurate stock control.
Other Responsibilities:
- Coordinate installation orders with Project Managers.
- Ensure the shop is clean and organized.
- Conduct daily safety meetings with team members.
- Order materials for the sign shop as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods, up to 14 hours a day.
- Must regularly lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds throughout the shift.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sign production is required.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software; keyboarding skills are essential.
- Strong ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds
