Maintenance Staff

Responsibilities:

• Keep accurate, complete, and legible records.
• Filling out Daily and Weekly & Monthly detailed spreadsheets as needed.
• Keeping updated spreadsheets for repairs, calibrations, trailer checks, truck checks, all around equipment checks.
• Notify the Maintenance Manager of any problems with parts, machinery and equipment requiring special orders, or urgent and safety-threatening situations.
• Continue to help improve the overall efficiency and effectivity of Roamer Transport, Inc., in all capacities.
• Complete other tasks and responsibilities deemed necessary and as assigned by direct supervisor.
• Logistics, HOS, ELDs, Routing, etc. as required by performing the necessary tasks.
• Load details, start to finish, loading and unloading knowledge when applicable.
• Extra time and attention to new drivers, especially during breakdowns or repairs. Instructing them what to pay attention to, how to do a pre-trip, and how we operate.
• Ensuring that all paperwork is filed, completed, sent, received as needed according to Roamer Transport, Inc. as well as FMCSA & DOT.
• Identify machinery or equipment needing repair or replacement; inform management as appropriate.
• Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment, including after the repair or replacement of parts.
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, machinery, or equipment.
• Use caution around moving parts and equipment.
• Responsible for safe operation and securing equipment.
• Ensure that customers are being serviced to the best of Roamer Transport, Inc’s, ability, you are a direct extension of Roamer Transport, Inc., to each customer.
• Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractor and trailer units to Company and DOT standards, as well as inventory controls and processing order paperwork.
• Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using various methods and devices.
• This includes test driving equipment to ensure they are running properly and to find any additional issues to determine the best strategy of repair.
• Help bring the repair and maintenance of Roamer Transport, Inc., equipment into a state of efficiency and effectiveness.
• Complete road calls and perform field repairs.

Requirements:

• Ability to move at least 50 pounds.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Must be able to creatively apply experience and common sense to a variety of situations, processes, and people.
• Possess the ability to manage several projects concurrently.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs to equipment that has failed in a manner that minimizes downtime.
• Must be able to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some nights, weekends, or holiday when needed.
• Must be able to complete on call duties and travel to truck in current area.
• Ability to use and maintain hand and/or power tools and equipment.
• Conducts himself/herself in the presence of customers in a manner which will retain a good opinion of the company.
• High school diploma or GED.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
