Nutrition Services Dietary Aide – Full Time
Roane General Hospital Spencer, WV a 60 bed Critical Access Hospital with 35 SNF/ICF beds, 25 acute care beds, Level IV Trauma Emergency Department, three Rural Health Clinics and a walk-in clinic is currently seeking applicants for a Full-Time Nutrition Services Dietary Aide.
SUMMARY
Prepares and accurately records diet information on appropriate forms, does various jobs depending on the needs of the department, including catering setup, by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Check with cooks for shortages in cafeteria and tray line, and make appropriate substitutions.
Check breakfast diet changes for accuracy and fill out tray slips for lunch and dinner.
Visit patients with special requests for lunch and dinner.
Pick up diet changes and make any changes in dietary kardex. Pull patient tray slips for lunch tray line. Responsible for tray list and cafeteria checklist Check all items for accuracy and correct temperatures.
Start patient tray line at 11:30, but not earlier. Deliver trays to the floors at 12:00.
Prepare production sheets for the next day. Answer the phone and make diet changes in kardex. Make and deliver late trays.
Safety check list.
Cleaning list for the following day.
Record information on new patients in kardex.
Visit new patients and records likes and dislikes and food allergies as well as any comments on their eating habits.
Write progress notes and place in patient medical charts on the floors.
Pick up evening diet changes. Record any changes and pull tray slips for dinner meal.
Starts patient tray line according to patient count.
Deliver trays to floors.
Do checklist and file.
Answer phone.
Prepare cash receipts and deposits on weekends.
Relief patient care worker and other assigned duties as time allows.
Maintains a safe environment for self and others.
Tactful and effective communication is maintained.
Work performance demonstrates competency of skills and concepts,
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisors when Food Services Director is absent.
