The Position
Roanoke College seeks applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Psychology to begin in August of 2025. The expected term is one year, with a possibility of renewal. A doctorate by the start date is preferred but Master's and ABDs will be strongly considered.
The Psychology Department is a friendly community that welcomes diverse people and voices. We seek to hire an individual who will be able to contribute to the department's goal of offering a wide array of courses and opportunities to students, preferably contributing to our Human Development concentration or our newly launched Disability Studies major. The position involves teaching undergraduate courses (4 / 4 load or 4 / 3 with advising) and engaging in program / college service, with support available for a research program. Applicants must be willing and able to teach courses within the Psychology major and contribute to Roanoke's general education program. See current courses offered here. Pedagogical development is highly supported at both the department and college level. Candidates who can involve undergraduate students in research would be particularly welcome. Service activities are varied across campus, with opportunities for individual expression and engagement.
