What You'll Do:
As an Airport Maintenance Technician, you'll tackle a variety of important tasks that keep our airport running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, landscaping, planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and maintaining fences.
- Paved Areas: Sweeping, repairing, and ensuring the safety of all paved surfaces, including airport runways
- Equipment Operation: Operating, fueling, and cleaning trucks, tractors, and other powered tools.
- Building Repairs: Plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, and other facility maintenance tasks.
- Airfield Systems: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems, as well as security gates and passenger loading bridges.
- Weather Response: Removing snow and ice during winter conditions.
This job involves working outdoors in all types of weather. Since we are open 24/7, 365 days a year, you may need to work occasional holidays. About once every 9 weeks, you'll work one weekend and one week of evening shifts.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Virginia driver's license (or ability to obtain one within 30 days) and a clean driving record.
- The ability to pass a TSA security clearance and drug test.
- Preferred: Experience operating equipment and basic knowledge of electrical or plumbing systems.
