About the Role
As the Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff, you will:
- Support Leadership: Serve as the Executive Director's right hand, managing schedules, meetings, correspondence, and travel arrangements while ensuring confidentiality and smooth operations.
- Oversee Office Operations: Supervise administrative staff, coordinate office supplies and equipment, and maintain an efficient, professional work environment.
- Provide Administrative Expertise: Prepare correspondence, reports, contracts, and presentations with meticulous attention to detail and professionalism.
- Manage Key Relationships: Act as a liaison with tenants, customers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring timely responses and solutions to inquiries, compliments, and complaints.
- Lead Special Projects: Draft compliance manuals, policies, and reports, and manage high-priority projects related to airport operations and administrative needs.
- Support Governance: Coordinate monthly Commission meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and ensure proper record-keeping of official documents and resolutions.
If assigned, you may also serve as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer and/or Deputy Secretary to the Commission, ensuring transparency and compliance with public information requests and governance protocols.

Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Business, Secretarial Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience as a personal executive assistant, office manager, or similar role.
- Valid Virginia driver's license (or ability to obtain within six months).
- Ability to meet and maintain TSA security requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience drafting contracts, leases, or real estate documents.
- Familiarity with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
- Prior experience in airport operations or management.
