Overview
Early childhood school is seeking a dedicated and reliable Teacher Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children, particularly in early childhood settings. This role involves working closely with children between the ages of infant to six years, implementing lesson plans, and fostering a love for learning through play and exploration.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Provide care and supervision for infant age to 6 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independence among students.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support each child's individual needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive classroom environment that is calm and quiet for learning.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- A background in Early Childhood Education or related field is a plus.
- Experience with implementing educational activities for young children
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods is a plus.
- Experience in childcare settings, particularly with infants to preschool-aged children.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and constructively.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and contributing to their growth and development.
- Must be reliable with a good work ethic and references
A fingerprint background, CPS background and tuberculosis is required for this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
