Job Title: Heavy Duty Repair Plant Mechanic
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Repair Plant Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy plant machinery and equipment used in aggregate processing and production. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in aggregate plant machinery, including crushers, conveyors, screens, and feeders.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns efficiently to maintain production schedules.
- Replace defective parts and conduct overhauls when necessary.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers and operators, to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Keep up to date with technical advancements and best practices in aggregate plant maintenance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in processing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with crushers, conveyors, and screening equipment in an aggregate plant.
- Additional certifications in welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
