We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to oversee projects, manage crews, and support business development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of construction experience and at least 3 years of project management experience . This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and hands-on construction expertise to ensure project success.
- Morning Crew Meetings – Meet with crew leads each morning to review daily job assignments.
- Site Inspections – Conduct periodic job site visits to ensure efficient operations, cleanliness, and that crews have necessary resources.
- Business Development – Build relationships with school districts, engineers, and contractors to secure new construction projects.
- Bidding & Proposals – Prepare and submit competitive bids for school district projects.
- Project Scheduling – Manage and oversee project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.
- On-Site Oversight – Be present at school project sites to supervise operations and support crews.
- Truck Log Collection – Collect truck logs each morning for administrative processing.
- Hands-On Support – Assist crews on-site when necessary to meet deadlines or provide training.
- Crew Development – Implement a structured training plan where leads mentor helpers for future leadership roles. Address language barriers by reassigning roles as needed.
- Tool & Equipment Management – Identify tools needing repair, coordinate with the mechanic, or approve new tool purchases.
- Material Inventory & Ordering – Monitor material stock levels and handle procurement.
- Job Folder Review – Review job details, timelines, and crew assignments before project kickoff.
- Customer Communication – Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing their questions and concerns.
- Proposal Accuracy – Identify discrepancies in proposals and report them to the sales manager for review.
- Bid Review – Proof sales bids before submission to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
- 3 years of project management experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage crews and interact with clients.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with bidding, proposals, and business development is a plus.
- Hands-on approach with the willingness to be on-site as needed.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and resource management.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure.
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety training is a plus.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish / English) are a plus but not required.
- Experience in RS Means bidding tool is a plus.
