Compensation: Year one, with realistic annual growth potential - Salary $75,000-$125,000 - Bonus - $25,000-$115,000

Hybrid information: We will not consider someone fully remote. You must be willing to come in the office regularly, but we will give flex for hybrid work as well. Ideally, this person will be based in the Branson, MO office, but we would consider having your home base in our Bentonville, AR office at the Ledger.

Job Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in a growing financial planning firm, overseeing daily operations, strategic planning, and ensuring the firm's infrastructure supports its growth ambitions. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other executive team members to drive efficiency, enhance client services, and manage the firm's operational risks. You'd be joining a top 1% Financial Planning Firm, with a path to quickly grow to be top .1% in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Operations Management:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the firm's growth objectives.
- Working closely with executive leadership to build out the repeatable processes and training required to help our new advisors succeed.
- Working with back office staff strengthening systems and processes.
- Oversee all aspects of the firm's operations, including human resources, finance, technology, and compliance.
- Financial Oversight:
- Work closely with executive leadership to manage the firm's budget, financial projections, and reporting.
- Process Payroll and weigh in on employee salary, bonus, and benefits.
- Ensure financial controls are robust and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Lead projects aimed at streamlining workflows and adopting new technologies.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Client Experience:
- Ensure all operational activities contribute positively to the client experience.
- Develop metrics to measure client satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all operations comply with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks.
- Technology Integration:
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and integration of technology solutions that support business operations and growth.
- Quarterback a Broker Dealer/tech transition and ongoing optimization. This is critical, this will happen in mid-November 2024.
- Stay abreast of fintech innovations that could benefit the firm.
- AI is one of the biggest opportunities we aren't currently utilizing.
- Business Development:
- Support the executive leadership in identifying new market opportunities and potential strategic partnerships.
- Contribute to the development of business plans and growth strategies.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between operations and other departments, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
- Represent the firm in operational matters with external stakeholders, including regulators and technology vendors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is preferred. Or 8 years of C Suite/President experience.
- Experience:
- Significant experience in a senior management role, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Proven track record in operational management, process improvement, and strategic planning.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A deep understanding of financial planning and compliance requirements is preferred. Or a strong desire to learn this.
- High-level proficiency in operational technologies and a keen interest in fintech.
