    40 hours per week, M-Th: 8:00 - 5:00 pm, F: 8:00 - 3:00 pm

    SUMMARY
    Under general supervision, this position is part of the Community Education department’s administrative team, reports to the Executive Director of Community Education, and collaborates closely with Community Education Program Directors, and staff and instructors to ensure the department provides high-level, timely, and engaging communication to all stakeholders using a variety of methods.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Marketing and promotion: assisting with marketing efforts to promote available community education classes through various channels. Assist in the development and production of the Community Education brochure.
    • Content Creation: developing engaging content for various platforms like website, social media, brochures, newsletters, and press releases to highlight community education programs.
    • Marketing Plan Development: creating marketing plans aligned with community education program goals, including target audience identification, and messaging strategy.
    • Collaboration: working closely with community education program coordinators to ensure marketing materials accurately reflect program details and objectives.
    • Community Events: supporting community education events, including registration, promotion, and on-site logistics.
    • Office Support: provides general office and administrative support for assigned programs (including non-school day and summer programming).
    • Registration Intake: receiving registration forms, verifying participant information, and collecting payment details.
    • Schedule Management: maintaining an updated class schedule, including dates, times, locations, and instructor details.
    • Data Entry: accurately recording registration data into the system, including student details and class selections.
    • Customer Service: addressing inquiries from potential and registered participants regarding course content, fees, and registration procedures.
    • Waitlist Management: maintaining waitlists for popular classes and notifying participants when spots become available.
    • Accessibility considerations: ensuring registration processes are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
    • Reporting: generating reports on registration statistics, class capacity, and revenue for program analysis.
    • Communication: contacting participants with important information regarding class changes, cancellations, and reminders.
    • Compliance: adhering to relevant policies and procedures regarding data privacy, student records, and financial transactions.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
    High School Diploma AND three (3) years professional experience, or the completion of 60 semester college credits (required) in an area related to position assignment; AND two (2) years of professional experience working with community engagement and data collection; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

    Knowledge of:
    • Strong communication and writing skills, bilingual preferred.
    • Marketing strategy development and execution.
    • Digital marketing expertise.
    • Community engagement and outreach skills.
    • Project management abilities.
    • Data analysis and interpretation.
    • Graphic design proficiency.
    Skill in:
    • Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
    • Identifying problems and opportunities, and developing solutions.
    • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
    • Providing effective customer service, and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public.
    • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers, clients and community agencies.
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
    A valid Minnesota State Driver’s License may be required. First Aid, CPR, and AED training is required within one year of hire. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training may be required within one year of hire, based on assignment.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    Work is performed in a classroom and a general office environment, with moderate physical requirements; requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. Jobs in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree, long periods of working with computers, and working within the community. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
