Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of all library, textbook and digital resources including:
- Circulation operations (preparing overdue reports,shelving and storage)
- Catalog operations (adding and deleting copies and other database maintenance)
- Ordering and processing, print and digital resources
- Weeding and inventory
- Books and basic equipment repair
- Internal and external interlibrary loan
- Assist district media and technology staff in management and circulation of Chromebooks and other devices.
- Assist in maintaining an appropriate learning environment.
- Assist staff and students with information location and retrieval.
- Assist with production of educational materials and resources.
- Assist with support for information technologies, including productivity and curriculum software.
- Assist technical support staff with installation and troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Schedule use of library media center space.
- Supervise volunteers.
- Record usage statistics.
- Other duties as assigned by the Library Media Specialist or Principal.
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Experience with Windows 8-10 and Google Apps
- Knowledge of library and textbook management systems (preferably Follett’s Destiny)
- Familiarity with Internet resources for accessing information
- Appreciation of literature and media in a variety of formats
- Ability to collaborate with a team to accomplish a task.
- Enthusiasm for learning new things.
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent people skills and sense of humor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
