Nature of Work |
The academic interventionist will work in collaboration with school staff to offer educational interventions and progress monitoring for students. |
Duties and Responsibilities |
•Provide high quality general education instruction under the guidance of a certified teacher to students who are at risk academically. •Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to ensure fidelity. •Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information. •Attend grade level meetings as required; provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and weaknesses. •Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties. •Utilize a tracking system to maintain lists of students participating in interventions. •Perform other related duties as assigned. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member to solve problems. •Sound judgement and decision-making skills are essential. •Serve as a positive role model for students. •Integrity to maintain the confidentiality of student information. •Ability to exercise good judgement and work in an environment with frequent interruptions. •Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when dealing with students and/or parents. •Skilled in identifying student learning and personal needs and collaborating with other professionals to provide needed resources or interventions. |
Education and Experience Requirements |
Minimum of an Associate’s degree or 48 hours of college transferrable hours. Successful experience working with students who need academic intervention is desirable. |
