Robblee Detwiler is an established Seattle law firm that has advocated for workers and labor unions for over a century. We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Legal Assistant to join our team. This position is full-time in our Belltown office and would work collaboratively with attorneys and other staff in all aspects of client representation. The successful candidate must be reliable and possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and be able to competently handle multiple projects (working both independently and as a team member). Excellent communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, proof reading, and strong typing skills are necessary. Candidates with a working knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules and electronic filing procedures are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Federal and state court filings (ECF).
- Formatting, proofreading, and finalizing correspondence, briefs, and federal and state court pleadings.
- Filing documents with administrative agencies (NLRB, PERC, EEOC).
- Maintaining paper files from inception to closing.
- Minor bookkeeping and invoice preparation.
- Copy and scan projects.
- Managing deadline reminders.
- Maintaining and updating Microsoft Excel Sheets.
- Reception duties, including greeting clients and answering phones.
- Weekly office supply orders.
- Check/drop mail daily.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Access and Adobe Pro preferred. Prior legal administrative experience is preferred, but the firm is willing to train those with a demonstrated enthusiasm and desire to learn.
